It was a sad day in July when it was revealed that the veteran actor Rip Torn had passed away. The actor was best known for starring in Men in Black and had lived until the age of 88.Now it has been revealed in a copy of his death certificate obtained by TMZ, that his death was ‘due to’ Alzheimer’s dementia. It was also revealed in the documents that he had been struggling with the disease for ‘years’. Alzheimer’s has been known to affect a person’s mental functions and his memory to a great extent.
The certificate obtained by TMZ also stated that Rip Torn’s body was buried in Poughkeepsie, New York. Torn had a long and shining career in the show business that lasted almost seven decades. He was best known for starring in critically acclaimed shows like Cross Creek and Sweet Youth, which made him a recognizable face in the industry. He also ventured into comedy with his role as Artie in The Larry Sanders Show as the ethically challenged television producer, for which he had won an Emmy award as well. Rip Torn, born Elmore Rual Torn , Jr. was most famously known for playing the role of Agent Zed in Men In Black franchise. He also had a recurring role in 30 Rock in which he played Don Geiss. He was also nominated for the Best Supporting Actor Oscar for his role as Marsh Turner in Cross Creek.
